The Facility Master Plan for Bluffton University was completed in 2014 by RCM Architects.
This edition started by looking at the campus from a "high level, " as the landscape was studied for ways to improve the pedestrian and vehicular circulation of campus, potential elimination of former buildings to make way for the potential development of future buildings, and for areas to expand recreation and sports options.
In the next phase of study, RCM prepared a Space Use Analysis which examined how well each classroom was being used as part of the typical academic schedule, including the amenities of those classrooms that made them desired or denied by teaching faculty and staff. The HVAC and electrical systems of classroom, office, and dorm buildings were also evaluated to make recommendations for updates and/or complete overhauls.
