Next year will mark the 200-year anniversary of Franz Gruber's classic Christmas carol, "Silent Night". Practically a lullaby, "Silent Night" forces us to slow down as we sing. And as we slow down, we are given the opportunity to reflect on the true meaning of the season:

 Silent night, holy night!
Son of God, love's pure light;

Radiant beams from thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord, at thy birth,
Jesus, Lord, at thy birth.

 In a world of darkness, the light of love was born. Born on a silent, holy night.

Today, we increasingly live in a world of commotion. Our lives have become too much, too fast and too loud. In times such as these, a "silent night" is indeed a welcome respite.

May you experience the joys of the season. May your holidays be filled with family, friends, fun and faith. But, most importantly, may your holidays give you time for silence.

Merry Christmas from
Jerry, Irvin and the Team at RCM Architects
